HISTORY OF NO POETRY MUSIC
The history of No Poetry Music can be traced back to 2016, when founder Stephen Goode launched No Poetry Promotions as a not-for-profit hobby project. The brand began with the objective of showcasing both local and out-of-town talent, while addressing the frustration of the lack of opportunities to experience original, alternative music in Herefordshire and Worcestershire.
The project grew quickly and hosted several events throughout Herefordshire and Worcestershire until 2019. No Poetry Promotions presented a stage at the Worcester Music Festival in 2017, established regular alternative-themed open-mic nights, held its own two-day festival at Hereford Skatepark in 2018, and orchestrated a tour of performance dates throughout South Wales and the West Midlands under the role of a booking agent in 2017 and 2019.
In 2019, Stephen Goode rebranded No Poetry Promotions to No Poetry Music upon embarking on a Bachelor of Arts Honours Degree in Music Business, which he subsequently graduated with a First Class Honours. The business plan for No Poetry Music was presented with an award by Natwest Bank.
No Poetry Music is an alternative music brand that specialises in the facilitation of live music with a focus on the alternative genre spectrum, including but not limited to rock, metal, and punk concerts. The brand operates with the intention of championing artists across the alternative music genre spectrum through an artist-centric format, with an overarching objective to exist as a safe and engaging networking hub for people who identify with alternative subcultures and have congruent musical interests.
No Poetry Music‘s primary business objective is to form a purposeful legacy in independent alternative music as an authority in ‘the next big thing’ and to empower innovative alternative artists, consolidating their audiences into one inclusive, passionate community. The brand also maintains a conscious effort to ensure performance lineups are as diverse as they can be, to better reflect and represent wider society.

In addition to organising and promoting stand-alone events, No Poetry Music represents a roster of artists under the role of booking agent, working with promoters throughout the United Kingdom.
ADDITIONAL SERVICES
No Poetry Music offers music industry consultancy services on an ad hoc basis, providing expert advice on industry best practices, guidance on music release strategies, the drafting of important documents such as songshare agreements and band/project agreements, as well as electronic press kits and web copy, such as band biographies.

No Poetry Music represents a small roster of artists, providing personalized music industry guidance, mentorship, and resources. With an artist-centric ideology, No Poetry Music works with artists to identify areas for growth and development, create a roadmap for success, and provide support every step of the way.
