No Poetry Music started in 2016 in reaction to the same old story; a local scene drowning in tired cover bands, leaving no room for original music to breathe. Founded by Hereford local Stephen Goode and a small crew of frustrated musicians and music lovers, it kicked off as No Poetry Promotions with one goal: to carve out a space for real, original music.
The first event went down at The Booth Hall in Hereford on November 1st, and it didn’t take long to pick up steam. What started as a not-for-profit passion project exploded into a string of underground gigs, regular open-mic nights, and even a two-day festival at Hereford Skatepark, raising money for prostate cancer research.
By 2019, No Poetry Promotions had outgrown its name and rebranded as No Poetry Music. The mission stayed the same, but the reach got bigger. We expanded into artist development, tour booking, and music industry consultancy, always keeping one foot in the underground and one finger on the pulse of real, independent music.
These days, No Poetry Music is a hell of a lot more than a promoter. We’re a hub for alternative music culture, a bridge between South Wales, the West Mids, and Bristol. We give original artists a stage, a chance, and a crowd and we give fans a place to lose themselves without losing their soul.
Real music. Real people.
